Getting Started

The easiest way to get started is to speak with a member of our awards team, who can guide you through the first steps of registration, and answer any questions you may have. You will be assigned an awards advisor, who will be your contact throughout the whole process, and offer guidance and assistance. The first step is to complete and return the free Qualification Assessment; your awards advisor will send this to you as a PDF. This is a comprehensive document that asks a wide range of questions about your hotel and will establish whether it is of the standard needed to continue in the International Hotel Awards process. We will process your Qualification Assessment and contact you with the outcome.

Registering for the International Hotel Awards

If your hotel passes the Qualification Assessment, it can go on to enter the International Hotel Awards. Your awards advisor will send the Awards registration form listing the categories for you to choose.

Primary Categories:

All hotels must enter one of these.
  • 4* Hotel (Over 50 Rooms)
  • 4* Small Hotel (Under 50 Rooms)
  • 5* Luxury Hotel (Over 50 Rooms)
  • 5* Small Luxury Hotel (Under 50 Rooms)

Secondary Categories:

Hotels may enter up to three of these

There is a fee to pay for each entry, covering the processing and judging procedure. You will also be asked to provide a range of supporting photography for your hotel, covering the various categories. We will advise you how to supply this imagery once you have reached the Awards entry stage.

National & Regional Judging Sessions

We have a panel of expert judges all over the world. Each judge is allocated entries which match their areas of expertise. Your qualification assessment and materials supplied for your entry will be scored to determine if you have won in your chosen categories.


Your awards advisor will contact you as soon as the results have been released, and inform you if your entry has won an award or not. If you have been successful, your awards advisor will guide you through the next steps leading up to your region’s awards presentation event. The level of your win will not be revealed until this event. If you were unsuccessful your awards advisor may be able to take you through the judges’ scoring. You will be provided with details regarding the gala dinner presentation event including the many opportunities to help promote your win.

Announcement Event

Once you have booked your tickets for the gala dinner event, you will be provided with details regarding the venue, timings and dress code. Our events usually include a champagne reception and gala dinner, with the awards announcements taking place in the evening with the meal. Each winner will be announced and asked to collect their award on stage with an official photographer to capture the moment. A photography backdrop area is also available for pictures with your award. We can also produce a high-quality video for winning companies. This features an introduction by a professional presenter and will include shots of the judging process and comments from the panel. It will be edited to include your company receiving its award during the gala dinner. A camera crew will be available at the event to conduct an interview.

Grand Final Event

The International winners will be revealed at another grand final event where the World’s Best Hotels will be announced.
